Councillor Grant Pforr despite objections by Marine Queensland and the boating fraternity wants a swimming enclosure erected off the foreshore of Tipplers and then the swimming pools filled in.

The Marine Action Group objects to his proposal on the grounds of safety, cost and restriction of access to the foreshore for small craft.

Can you imagine how ugly a swimming pool enclosure would look in this beautiful natural setting?

We want it back how it used to be – with the swimming pools – not an enclosure.

What do you think?  Have your say!

Tipplers

The re-opening of Tipplers as a boating destination with food and beverage facilities available to boaties and visitors is essential to restoring an icon that was part of the Gold Coast boating lifestyle for decades. The Gold Coast City Council had no right to take away these facilities without public consultation.

The Marine Queensland proposal for a Marine Education and Tourism centre is the best way forward for Council and ratepayers yet our administration and elected officials refuse to consult.

The Marine Action Group will continue the campaign to right this wrong for as long as it takes …
